用途：主要用于制藥工業(yè)，具有收斂作用，可作胃藥，治療腸胃道疾病，也可用來(lái)處理創(chuàng )傷和止血；在臨床測試中化驗糖和生物堿。此外，還可用做防腐劑、除臭劑及色譜分析試劑等。
